The story behind Medicatedmema

Medicated Mema was never really supposed to become a brand. It just became one.

It started with a mother and daughter, a whole lot of laughs, a love of plant medicine, and years of adventures together.

We traveled, explored, learned, created, and shared pieces of our lives along the way. Somewhere in the middle of all of that, “Medicated Mema” took on a life of its own.

Mema has always been creative. Long before she started painting, she worked with clay, made macramé, and was always making something with her hands. Then one day she picked up a paintbrush—and that opened an entirely new chapter.

Her paintings aren't about being perfect. They're about personality. They're funny, weird, beautiful, unexpected and completely Mema. Sometimes a gummy or two may help with the creative process. 😉 Every original sold here is painted by Mema herself, signed by her, and completely one of a kind.

But Medicated Mema is about more than art.

Our love of plants and natural living eventually became part of what we created, too. Southern Roots Salve grew from that same philosophy: going back to the roots, keeping things simple, and creating something by hand that we genuinely wanted in our own home.

So this little corner of the internet brings all of those pieces together—the art, Southern Roots, our adventures, our stories, our love of nature, and probably a little bit of chaos.

We're not trying to be polished or perfect. That's never been us.

We're a mother and daughter who have spent years laughing, traveling, creating, learning, and sharing the journey with a community that somehow became part of the family.
